spatial practitioner (?)

b. 1997 in Riga, Latvia,  working on the meeting points between art, architecture, urbanism, and theatre. With a background in Urban Studies (MSc, Estonian Academy of Arts), and Film, Theatre and Media Studies (BA, University of Vienna), these encounters encompass curatorial work, research, writing, and artistic practice.
Curious about the optimistic materialities of post-soviet neoliberalism and the contemporary project condition within our everyday lifes, I often explore observed paradoxes as alliances with material properties interested in knowledge production in the expanded field of architecture. The ongoing theory-grounded practice gravitates toward themes surrounding the politics of real estate, institutional practices, feminist phenomenology, and performing arts as a critical practice.
Around Riga, Latvia and Vienna, Austria.
LINA fellow 2024.

baltic lines, initiated together with diana mikane. an artistic research project approaching rail baltic as a methaphorical lense to critically reflect upon connected narratives such as the concept of baltic region, baltic project friendships, baltics as nordic, baltics as a waiting room. the project aspires to develop an expanded methodology fostering new alliances and prompts reflections on where rail baltica's impact extends. baltic lines emphasizes soft approaches for navigating the managerial orientations posed by hard infrastructures on human and non-human landscapes while wondering what the tools for feminist objectivity are within artistic research practice.

come in! performativity of flexible rental models in vienna, an artistic research project supported by the austrian federal ministry of the arts, culture, the civil service and sport (start of the project october 2024), explores the performative dimensions of urban living and the quiet neoliberalization of vienna’s housing market while exploring the influx of flexible housing schemes, often marketed as mid-term rental solutions. using floor plans as research devices, the project examines how economic, regulatory, and social forces shape the city's changing rental market.

new energy landscapes, initiated by LABLAB (se), aims to develop a cohesive trans-national and trans-disciplinary platform of know-how on how land-based renewable energy impacts landscapes, spatial planning and identity in the baltic sea region. in the project, representing linnalabor (ee), my work is connected to paldiski, estonia and its green transition through situated ethnographic practice.
